My name is Bita Khoshroo, and I’m the ceramic artist behind Bitajewells. I make every piece by hand in my small Ottawa studio, shaping tiny blocks of porcelain into jewelry that feels joyful, meaningful, and full of character.
Porcelain became my medium because it refuses to be rushed. It teaches patience, rewards care, and transforms completely through each stage—shaping, drying, sanding, painting, and three separate firings at 1200°C. By the time a pair of earrings is ready, it has passed through my hands dozens of times. Nothing here is mass-produced. Nothing is copy-and-paste.
My style is a blend of the worlds I love: blue-and-white ceramic traditions, playful shapes, folk art, storytelling, and the little details of everyday life. I paint each design by hand and finish many pieces with real 24K gold lustre. Those gold accents are my favourite moment in the process—tiny sparks of warmth that bring the piece to life.
Bitajewells exists because I wanted jewelry to feel personal again. Something you connect with the moment you hold it. Something that has a story, not a barcode. My work is for people who appreciate craftsmanship, colour, and a little bit of whimsy in their day.
