About the Jewelry
Are your pieces handmade? Yes — every BitaJewells piece is entirely handmade. Each item is hand-shaped from porcelain, hand-painted, and triple kiln-fired at 1200°C in our Ottawa, Canada studio. No two pieces are exactly alike.
What is porcelain jewelry? Porcelain jewelry is made from fine ceramic clay that is shaped, dried, painted, and fired in a kiln at extremely high temperatures — in our case, 1200°C. The result is a hard, lightweight, and beautifully glazed piece that permanently holds colour and gold lustre. Unlike resin or polymer clay, porcelain is a natural material kiln-fired to a glass-like finish.
Is porcelain jewelry durable? Yes — porcelain is surprisingly durable for everyday wear. Our pieces are triple kiln-fired, which makes the glaze and 22K gold lustre permanent and resistant to fading or peeling. Porcelain is harder than most plastics and polymers. Like all jewelry, it should be handled with care to avoid drops on hard surfaces.
What is 22K gold lustre? Gold lustre is a real metallic gold finish made from actual gold compounds that are painted onto the ceramic surface and fired in the kiln at high temperature. The result is a genuine 22K gold metallic finish permanently bonded to the porcelain — not plated, not painted on top. It catches light beautifully and does not tarnish or wear off with regular use.
Will the gold lustre fade? No — the 22K gold lustre is kiln-fired directly into the porcelain at 1200°C. It is a permanent finish, not a coating or plating. It does not fade, peel, or tarnish with regular wear.
Can I wear porcelain jewelry in water? The porcelain itself is waterproof and kiln-fired to a glass-like surface. However, we recommend removing your jewelry before swimming, showering, or washing dishes to protect the metal findings (ear hooks, clasps, chains) from prolonged moisture exposure.
Is your jewelry hypoallergenic? Yes — the porcelain portion of every piece is completely hypoallergenic (no nickel, no latex, no common allergens), and all metal findings (hooks, chains) are gold-plated or gold-filled. If you have a severe metal sensitivity, please contact us and we can discuss the best option for you.
What is Delft Blue? Delft Blue is a centuries-old Dutch ceramic art style known for its intricate blue-and-white floral and nature motifs. At BitaJewells, we reimagine this heritage style on fine porcelain jewelry.
What materials do you use? Fine porcelain, hand-painted with ceramic underglazes, finished with real 22K gold lustre. Findings (hooks, chains) are 18K gold-plated or gold-filled and hypoallergenic.
Are your pieces one of a kind? Every piece is hand-painted individually, so slight variations in brushwork are part of what makes each one unique — not a flaw.
Sizing & Care
How big are the pieces? Sizing varies by design — each product page lists exact dimensions and weight in the Details section.
How do I care for my BitaJewells piece? Store your jewelry in the gift box it arrived in, away from direct sunlight and moisture, perfume, and harsh chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth to clean, and avoid dropping it on hard surfaces. Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising. With proper care, your piece will last for many years.
Ordering & Production
How long does production take? Please allow 5 business days for processing before your order ships. You will receive a tracking notification once your order is on its way.
Can I cancel or change my order? Please get in touch with us within 24 hours of placing your order if you need to make changes. Once production has begun, we are unable to cancel or modify orders.
Shipping
Where do you ship? We ship Canada-wide and internationally to over 50 countries, including the US, UK, and EU.
Do you ship to the United States with no customs fees? Yes — US orders ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). All duties and import taxes are prepaid, so your package arrives with no surprise charges at the door.
Do you offer free shipping? Yes — free shipping on Canadian orders over $175 CAD, and US orders over $250 USD.
How can I track my order? You'll receive a tracking notification once your order ships. You can also track your order through the Shop app from your order confirmation page.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy? We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

Where is BitaJewells based? Ottawa, Canada. Every piece is designed and handcrafted in our local studio.
